Preferred Seat is for economy passengers who wish to reserve their seat with Extra Legroom or Forward Zone which is located closer to the doors so they will be among the first to disembark the plane. Preferred Seat will be available for Airbus aircraft on international routes as the table below:

Fees and Types of Preferred Seat for Economy Class
Extra Legroom (First Row and Emergency Exit Row)
These First Row and Emergency Exit Row seats with extra legroom provide passenger more space to stretch your legs with wider seat pitch for better comfort.
Fee: 400 Baht or 14 USD per person per sector.
In the case that passenger wishes to sit in the Emergency Exit Row seat, the passenger must meet Emergency Exit Row seating requirements before purchasing this seat.
Forward Zone
Front Zone are located closer to the doors, so passengers will be able to get to their seats easier and be among the first to disembark the plane.
Fee: 250 Baht or 9 USD per person per sector.
Terms and Conditions
- Preferred Seat can be purchased via our call center 1771, www.bangkokair.com, at the Managing My Booking on our website, Bangkok Airways Ticketing office and check-in counter at the airport
- The charged rates are shown in THB (Thai Baht) for Domestic point of sales and shown in USD (US Dollars) for international point of sales and will be converted to the local currency by using the Banker’s Selling Rate on the date of sales transaction occurred.
- Preferred Seat is available up to 1 hour before flight departure via our Call Center 1771, Bangkok Airways Ticketing Office and Counter Check-in at the airport.
- Passengers who choose not to select seats in Preferred Seat zone may select from any remaining seats during booking or check-in. If no seats are selected before flight departure, passengers will be assigned a seat but without any guarantee of the resulting seat type or if they will be seated together with the other passengers in their booking.
- Preferred Seat fees may not be applied depending on the seat(s) selected, the fare type(s) selected, Flyer Bonus Program tier of that passenger at the time of seat request, and the type of passengers in the booking. Bangkok Airways reserves the right to determine the eligibility criteria for complimentary seat selection.
- Preferred Seat cannot be refunded or transferred to any other passenger or flight.
- If passenger voluntarily change the date of flight or choose a different flight, any fee paid for the original Preferred Seat will not be refunded.
- A selected seat may be changed by Bangkok Airways for operational, safety or security reason. This may include the following scenarios:
(i) Flight cancellation
(ii) Aircraft type change
In case of item (i) and (ii), Bangkok Airways will reserve a new seat for the passenger based on the type of seat that the passenger has reserved. If Bangkok Airways cannot book the same type of seat for the passenger, the fee will be fully refunded.
- Preferred Seat is available to passengers who have made reservation in advance with complete payment only.
- Bangkok Airways reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions, at its sole and absolute discretion, at any time with or without prior notice.
Emergency Exit Row seating requirements
Passengers seating on the Emergency Exit Row must meet the eligibility criteria as per the flight safety guidelines as below:
- Appear reasonably fit, strong and able to operate the exit without any assistance.
- Are willing and able to comply with seating regulations.
- Are 16 years of age or older.
- Have the ability to read and understand instructions related to emergency evacuation provided by Bangkok Airways in printed or graphic form.
- Have the ability to understand Cabin Crew Commands.
- Must not be visually or hearing impaired to the extent that they might not readily become aware of instructions given such as to commence evacuating the aircraft.
- Must not have restricted mobility including persons with physical or intellectual disability.
- Must not be elderly, frail or have an illness and appear to not be capable of operating or assisting with the operation of exit.
- Must not be traveling with an infant, child or passenger younger than 16 years old.
- Must not be pregnant.
- Must not be suddenly ill.
- Must not be of physical size which would prevent him/her from being able to move quickly (passenger must not require an extension seat belt).
- Must not be Buddhist monks/novices.
- Must not be traveling with service dogs.
- Must not be inadmissible passenger, deportees or person in custody.
- Must not be carrying baggage on an extra seat.
- On some Emergency Exit Row seats, armrest cannot be lifted and Emergency Exit Row ending in A or F will have only one armrest. Passenger may choose another Emergency Exit Row if available.
- On Emergency Exit Row, in Airbus 320 row 10 or 11, seats cannot be reclined.
- Bangkok Airways may reassign your seat before or during your flight without any refund if passenger does not meet any of the above safety criteria.
