Checked Baggage

  • Economy Class : Maximum weight allowances is 20 kilograms for adult and child / 10 kilograms for infant.
  • Blue Ribbon Class (Business Class) : Maximum weight allowance is 40 kilograms for adult and child / 10 kilograms for infant.
  • Prepaid Baggage :
    • Passengers who wish to purchase extra baggage allowance, can purchase prepaid baggage with lower price through the following channels:
      • Call Center, Bangkok Airways ticketing office, ticketing agent at least four (4) hours prior to departure time.
      • www.bangkokair.com or at the Manage My Booking on our website at least two (2) hours prior to departure time.
    • Prepaid baggage is applied for flights operated by Bangkok Airways only.
    • Prepaid Baggage is non-refundable and non-reroutable.
    • Domestic : Prepaid baggage charge rate varies upon weight as per following table

  • As per directive from Airport of Thailand, one checked baggage maximum weight is 32 kilograms. If baggage weight exceeds 32 kilograms per one piece, the baggage must be re-packed.
  • Bangkok Airways accepts sports equipment as checked baggage as part of your standard baggage allowance. Any exceeded weight resulting from such inclusion shall be assessed at the Excess Charge rate above.
  • For codeshare and interline flights or flights operated by other airlines, please kindly contact the operating airline for more details.
  • Excess Baggage is non-refundable.

Travelling with liquids, aerosols and gels (LAG)

Regarding to the regulation recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), there are restrictions on the quantity of liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAG) that you could carry in your cabin baggage which apply for passengers boarding from, transferring or transiting through domestic and international airports.

Liquids, aerosols and gels that being restricted includes

  1. Water and other drinks;
  2. Soups, syrups, jams, stews, sauces and pastes; 
  3. Other foods in sauces or containing a high liquid content; 
  4. Creams, lotions, cosmetics, oils, perfumes, sprays, gels, toothpaste, including hair and shower gels; 
  5. Contents of pressurized containers, including shaving foam, other foam and deodorants;
  6. Liquid-solid mixtures, mascara, lip gloss or lip balm.

The Liquids, gels and aerosols allowed in cabin baggage listed above shall comply with restrictions as follows:

  1. Contained in containers with volumes not more than 100 ml (3.4 oz.) with volume labeled on the container.
  2. Container with volumes greater than 100 ml are not acceptable, even if the container is only partially filled;
  3. These containers should be placed in a transparent re sealable plastic bag with maximum combined capacity not more than 1000 ml (1 litre).
  4. At the security checkpoint, security screener may ask for the plastic bag to be removed from your cabin baggage and presented to for examination.

If the Liquids, Aerosols, and Gels (LAG) could not comply with the above restrictions, it must be checked into checked baggage.

 

Exemptions

Medications, baby foods including milk, and special dietary requirements

  1. are permitted in cabin baggage in an appropriate amount to the flight time.
  2. Passengers with prescription medicine or special dietary are required to carry supporting documentation (e.g. Identification documents, letters from doctors) for verifications.

Must be declared to security screener at security checkpoint for examination.

Duty free purchases

  1. Duty-free items purchased at the airport or inflight on the day of travel must be packed in sealed Security Tampered - Evidence Bags (STEBs) with no sign of tampering.
  2. Receipts of the purchased duty free items must show the same date as departure date. The receipt must be presented to security screener at the security checkpoint of transferring or transiting airport.

*Remark: Some destinations may have restrictions that affects which liquids, aerosols, gels, you may bring in your cabin baggage. Always check with the relevant authorities of the country you're visiting before travel to ensure you pack them appropriately.
